2007 Goblin Games

Relentless Hustle established herself as THE premier girls youth lacrosse club in all Upstate New York at The 2007 Goblin Games in Ithaca. The Magnificent DozenRelentless Hustle's 3/4 team, got everything started at Cass Park in the early morning. Figures creating legend such as McKenzie Harris #30 and #7 Brittney Chamberlain were scoring goals and dishing out assists, literally by the dozens, in annihilating solid programs like Tully and Ithaca along the way. By the time the 5/6 Team mustered at the tents, Relentless Hustle was the talk of the tournament and the Blue Rain standard of excellence was established.
The 5/6 tournament began with Relentless Hustle destroying both Pittsford teams in such a complete fashion that the Panther players and parents gave up all resistance and applied the "if you can't beat em' then join em'" plilosophy. And, as a group, asked Relentless Hustle for tryouts and invitations. A rugged and talented Lafayette team met the Blue Rain in the semi finals. This match was a street fight due to the poor officiating and the choppy, physical style of play Lafayette brings to the field. The younger and much smaller Relentless Hustle kids fought tooth and nail, fire with fire, led by experienced and confident midfielders #22 Emily Livecchi & #9 Kristina Glitch, 3/4 and 5/6 Tournament Scoring Leader #30 The Hammer, and Tournament MVP. The turning point was when McKenzie was brutally pounded into the eight meter turf by a frustrated Lafayette defense who'd already experienced a half dozen Hammer scores. #30 seemingly ignored Coach Denk's medical check, picked herself up, dusted off, and buried the tying goal. She'd score the next two as Relentless Hustle moved on to the finals against Irondequoit.
Irondequoit, an original and storied Section V program, had brought to Ithaca their very best and most experienced players in hopes of redeeming themselves after a Fall season of disappointment at the hands of the Blue Rain. Relentless Hustle lined up for the opening draw with a short bench, a group of 3/4th graders playing in their 8th game, and everyone else bruised or bloodied from the previous match. Courage, smarts, and spirit carried those amazing kids. Wave after wave of Irondequoit attacks crashed upon the Relentless Hustle defense and were counter attacked with the Blue Rain's trademark transition game. Back and forth this nail biter went as every pass, groundball, and draw, meant the difference between victory and defeat. Finally, with Relentless Hustle ahead, Coach asked the only kid with fumes in the tank, #7 Brittney Chamberlain, to posses and close out the tournament.
Relentless Hustle fulfilled Mr. Harris's vision and confidence and had earned respect and glory against all odds. And, they earned the reward of a promise... Mr. Harris's victory limo ride.
