Prior to Gates Chili, Rick spent five years (2005-2010) as the Director of Athletics for the Skaneateles Central School District. Prior to that, he was a high school counselor in the Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District from 1995 – 2005 where he coached Varsity Football & Lacrosse. Before HF-L, he worked in Massena, New York where he was a middle school counselor and coach from 1990 – 1995.
Rick began his passion for academics and athletics while a two-sport athlete at St. Lawrence University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology in 1989, as well as his Master’s Degree in Counseling and Human Development in 1990 and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Counseling and Human Development in 1995. He went on to acquire an additional Master’s Degree in Educational Administration at the State University College at Oswego in 2003.
